Afghans go to polls under threat of Taliban violence

Afghans are voting Thursday in the war-ravaged country's second national elections since the overthrow of the Taliban in 2001. But with the Islamic militants resurgent in many regions, hundreds of U.S. marines are among security forces deployed to protect voters and polling stations against possible attacks.
